Hi all!

Although I'm not writing very often to the list I keep it as my first
reading every morning. I'm living at Chetumal, Quintana Roo, south side
of Yucatan peninsula and I can asure You all that Vokes does a fine job
with this area fauna. In fact, due to Emily, and Wilma You can find that
almost every beach in the area is today full of freshly washed and very
interesting shells.

You can find a few modest hotels in Holbox and it is very cheap to rent
a fisherman's boat to get to other beaches east and west of Holbox that
are rarely visited for other than the fishermen itself, and, the trip
across the coastal lagoons worth the cost since You can find a very
intertesting mixture of marine, stuarine and land shells.

You can ofcourse get there from Cancun if You are interested in
Caribbean shells, a week long trip sparing a 2 o 3 days in Holbox is a
fine choice. I think You can get a very wise advice about some shelling
tips for this area from Jose Leal who was working here few years ago
with a couple of ECOSUR researchers.

Greetings for all and happy holidays.

Saludos y Felicidades
Alberto
