Hi, fellow conch-people (and others!).  Just in case anyone besides Mark
and Mr. Powers and the wonderful Mariah and a few very kind others
really cares, i am BACK - again!  One day after i recieved my free
replacement modem from USRobotics (a class outfit, if ever there was
one!), the logic board on my 1988 Mac gave up the ghost, and could not
be economically replaced.  So, i now have a nice "Starmax 400" (160 K)
machine, with 3 gig HD, 64 Megs RAM, lots of probably
unethically-replicated new progams, and best of all, a COLOR monitor (a
lot bigger than 8.5 in. too!).  It won't be paid for for a year or so,
but it should last a little longer than before, at least!  Lots of mail
to catch up on, so this time i'll be sending "retro-messages" one at a
time, instead of "en-mass".
