Caro Marcus,

You want to block ultra-violet light frequencies. At The Bailey-Matthews
Shell Museum we use, for fluorescent lights over shell exhibitis, simple UV
filters that look like a clear plastic cylinders that slide around the
fluorescent bulb.

Google "fluorescent UV filters" or something similar and you'll get
information about the prices and specifications. We buy our filters from
Gaylord (www.gaylord.com).

Um abraço,

José

Subject: [CONCH-L] Lights on exhibits

I am preparing a permanent exhibit on a local Museum. Since the lights will
be on most of the time,
I wonder which type would be more suitable to avoid damage on shell colors.

Is there any specific fluorescent tube or bulb for this purpose? I have used
warm colored ones which
supposedly do not "kill" the colors, but I never liked the results.

Thanks

Marcus
