Dear Winston (Dick knows this),

To the examples cited below I can add Cancellaria petiti Olsson, 1967 and
Africotriton petiti Beu and Maxwell, 1987.

Also a source for several other such instances:
Petit, R. E. and M. G. Harasewych, 1990. Catalogue of the superfamily
Cancellaroidea Forbes and Hanley, 1851 (Gastropoda: Prosobranchia). The
Nautilus 103 supplement 1: 1-69. March.

and in the Strombidae:
Strombus martini Oostingh, 1935
Tibia martini (Marrat, 1877) [Does anyone know the original generic
placement of this species?]

Seems like The Nautilus is getting a lot of play today, José? (Say that real
fast).

Harry

Dear Winston:

My first posting of this message bounced as I left the original messages
attached.

In the Cancellariidae there are quite a few, among them:
Trigonostoma antiquata (Hinds) and Tritonoharpa antiquata (Hinds in =
Reeve)
Admetula bayeri Petit, 1976 and Tritonoharpa bayeri Petuch, 1987
Tritonoharpa beui Verhecken, 1997 and Unitas beui Le Renard, 1994
Cancellaria boucheti Petit & Harasewych, 1986; Iphinopsis boucheti
Okutani et al., 2004; Perplicaria boucheti Verhecken, 1997 and Tritonoharpa
boucheti Beu & Maxwell, 1987.

That's just for a & b; I skipped many primary homonyms that are not
valid.

Regards,

dick
