CONCH-L subscribers may request a copy of the text-only version of the
CONCH-L 'FAQ' and 'Posting Guidelines' directly from the listserv.

To request these files send a e-mail message to:

    [log in to unmask]

*NOTE: You MAY include a 'SUBJECT' line in the header of your message.
This will not cause an error.

In the body of the message put either or both of these commands:

    GET CONCH-L FAQ
    GET CONCH-L RULES

*NOTE: These commands must be typed EXACTLY as above. Any additional
letters, comas, dashes, periods, carriage returns or spaces, or changing
the order of the words will cause the listserv to send you an error
message. However, you may type the address and commands in upper or lower
case letters or a mixture of both. The 'case' of the letters will not
cause an error.

*NOTE: If you include your signature at the bottom of the request the
server will send you one error message per line of signature. Because the
commands come before the signature the listserv will still send you the
requested files.

To avoid typing errors, I suggest you 'CUT' & 'PASTE' the above e-mail
address and listserv commands into your e-mail message. The resulting
message header and body should look something like this:

    TO: [log in to unmask]
FROM: your email address goes here
SUBJECT: get conch-l faq and rules
    Cc:
    Bcc:
    Attachments:
    ----------------------------------

    GET CONCH-L FAQ
    GET CONCH-L RULES

*NOTE: The above message is based on a message I sent using my e-mail
program (Eudora light 1.5.4 for the Macintosh). I have used a dashed line
(....) to represent the line the Eudora program puts between the message
header and body. DO NOT include a dashed line in your e-mail message to
the listserv or you will receive an error message instead of the requested
files.

Requesting files from the listserv is not always easy. The program can be
slow sending the requested files back and you can have problems with the
syntax of the commands. If you have a web browser I suggest you use that
the either view the files on the list's WWW site or retrieve them from the
list's FTP site.
