Thanks Andy, I guess. I feel that inside I never aged past 13. My wife says
that's about how old I act. At any rate, I would like to think that enjoying
shells/mollusks in the cabinet and/or in the wild helps keep me young -- at
least it is good therapy. There are some days (like the day after visiting
the Gosport Sand at Claiborne Bluff with Phyllis Diegel and Richard Deurr in
search of fossils) that I certainly do not feel very young. On those days I
am reminded of my favorite movie quote from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as the
character Indiana Jones says, "It's not the years. It's the miles." Then I
hobble around on pulled muscles to clean shells or examine others in the
collection and for a few moments the pain is forgotten. So, to me shelling is
better than Ben-Gay. Anyone else care to add their perspective to this
thought?
