Jennifer Hanhila asked why oysters can no longer be farmed in Kino Bay. We
may not know the specific answer, but we can speculate. Shrimp farms in
Malaysia and other warm places are often overtaken by a disease that is
very difficult to get rid of once it is present. Possibly the oysters have
acquired a viral, bacterial, fungal, or other condition that kills them, or
at least prevents their use by people.
