Definitely came from Midway, Philip Spicer was a well known Shell Collector
while in the Navy.
Conus spiceri was named after him.

The list of confirmed species in the Hawaiian chain is quite short. I am
very confident that this specimen did not come from Midway.

Certainly in the "Asprella" group, maybe australis.

Rick-

It's neither C. nussatella nor likely from Midway, even though if I remember
correctly Phil Spicer was stationed there during World War II. Looks like C.
australis to me, but, at least acccording to RKK, C. australis does not
occur east of Samoa.
