Say, that would work well once the genome of each species is determined.   DNA
sequencing seems like it would be a pretty indisputable way to identify
species.  I doubt that there are enough molluscan geneticists to do this work
within my lifetime.
 
Oh well... for now we must cope with the "burdensome" binomial system the best
that we can.
