Bobbi Cordi wrote: "Many materials used with shells release acid. The
worst is cotton." I only use cotton for one thing, stuffing the aperture
so I have something to glue the operculum on to. I have done this for
years. To date I have never seen that it has affected the shells in any
way. Have I just been lucky? Should I stop?

Also I am confused about some of ferreter's emails about dealers' lists;
and I was surprised that my name got mixed up with them. All I wanted to
do was suggest the dealers put on Conch-L only the information that their
new lists are available on the Internet. If Mike said anything intelligent
and wonderful (and he often does), I agree with him completely; otherwise I
am not sure I know what he was talking about.
