I am writing to report the death of my mother, Sally D. Kaicher, on
March 29, 1999 at age 77 following a short illness.  Many of your
subscribers are familiar with her contributions to the taxonomy of
malacology
including "Indo-Pacific Seashells" as well as her "Card Catalog of
World-Wide
Shells".  I am not a shell collector or malacologist (never had any real
 
interest), but I understand her contributions in this field were
significant.
