Well actually, Shell Oil was started in Kentucky by Billy Bob Goldberg
of Rabbit Hash, Ky. (Look it up)
Billy Bob was out looking for heel-splitters to make shell buttons out
of. He stumbled on a real big cache of them accumulated by some Beavers
who were using them to build a dam. When he spiked in his shovel to
start "collecting" the shells, the shovel went down a few extra feet and
struck oil. The rest is history.
