   The common way of dividing micro and macro evolution is to say anything that evolution occruing in a species is microevolution and anything among and above the level of species is macroevolution.  So there are fundamental differences between the two, or there would not be a need of calling them two different things. I asked Dr. Tim Collins on a possible example of this and he mentioned that selection between species is an example of macroevolution. In microevolution there would be selection of a particular trait as in the commonly cited example in this discussion, the color of the moths.
