Dear David,  That's exactly what it is, a form from Nicaragua.  Is it a
sub-species or a form?  This word form is being used more and more,
which is not all bad.  At least you can pretty well tell what the shell
is going to look like from certain areas.  I had a Murex palmarosea from
Sri Lanka.  I kept it alive in my aquarium for 5 years.  What I fed it
and maybe the water quality caused it to lose the pink color and the
longer fronds and in five years I had one that looked like it came from
the Philippines.  But I just called it Murex palmarosea form
aquariaensis.  Just kidding.  Of course there can be two or three forms
in the same area, but like I said before interbreeding and food have a
