And that's off the TOP of your head?!
What I was thinking of was a sort of "Readers Digest" version. The
short story approach.
My idea is a compilation of "namers". Sort of like a page which shows:
THIS is what he looked like; THIS is who he was; THIS is what he did.
I started this line of thought with Quoy and Gaimard. In the shell
world, it would be nice to be able to take a favorite shell; say this
guy named the shell; the holotype is in this institution; this is how
come this particular guy got the first of this particular shell.
In the Wentletrap Book (that will be out in about two weeks) I have an
appendix listing all the Wentletrap "namers", all the shells they named,
where they come from if legitimate; and what they really are if
synonyms. It is a brief start. I have always felt that shell material is
about people and their relationship to mollusks. Who they were; what
they did;etc.
If this is getting too esoteric, i'll go back to the flying pigs.
