I have an idea for posting lists of things, and other items that some
but not all would like to see:  Why not somehow start a "conch-l
bulliten board" site or page, which people could post articles, lists,
etc. to, without adding large postings to the regular list?  Or, for
some things, existing bulliten boards and "trading post"-type sites
could be used to post large files, and the list posting could simply
refer the membership to the appropriate site.  This would keep the list
itself free of cumbersome messages, while allowing ready access to them!
 
        I like the idea of the book auction,  by the way,but it could not be
operated using the normal conch-l list.
