Within the last year I read a notice advising not to pick dangerous cone
shells up at all without some sort of tool such as a large spoon or tongs.
Apparently the animal can reach all parts of it's shell thus no area is
safe. The best idea I've seen so far is the tong method and a plastic milk
jug for storage. The milk jug part  was talked about earlier today, check
your messages. MJB
