This is a request for help.

What characteristics distinguish Costoanachis sparsa from avara? Does sparsa have axial ribs on all
whorls (unlike avara)?

Are there Florida collectors who have collected sparsa and have a few specimens to spare? Or, will
you share data with us on Conch-L as to its habitat.

Are there any Conch-Lers in the Sanibel/Captiva area that have collected the "Costoanachis aff
sparsa" pictured by Gundersen on page 11? Have you compared it to ordinary sparsa and is there a
difference? Any of you have a few to spare?
