It is in Rios, 1994 N. 143 as Astraea tecta olfersii (Philippi, 1846) but
he does not compare it to tecta.
It seems to be the Brazilian form of tecta. Mine has a noticeable stepped
appearance
I have an Astraea from Brasil, which came out of an old collection. It is
>labelled Astraea olfersii (no author or date). I cannot find a reference to
>this species (but then again, in de mess of our house renovation, I cannot
>find half my books). I thought maybe some of our South American members
>might be able to shed some light on this species, as to whether it's valid
>etc.
