The most important (and recent) information on this species is by Houbrick
in Malacologia vol. 35 (1993).
The genus is Bittiolum, not Bittium or Diastoma (the latter quite
unrelated). The type of protoconch suggest planktotrophy (but it could be
lecitotrophic).
