Hi Fellow Shell Lovers:
I am born and raised in the Hawaiian islands--an avid snorkler, SCUBA diver,
shell collector, and researcher. I have been collecting and studying shells
and invertebrates since 1983.
My current studies involved are: Bioassessment studies on Diadromous species
of Molluscs in our precious Hawaiian streams and rivers; Diadromous molluscs
of Hawaii and the Pacific regions; Anatomical studies on deep water fauna
from the northwestern Hawaiian Islands (NWHI) -- Now closed to fishing and
made a conservation district; and many other projects that keep me pretty
busy--to include publishing reports and articles in popular magazines,
bulletins, or journals--actually part of my stress release and pass-time--to
also include spending valuable time with family and friends.
Some of my fellow shell collectors might remember me by my name sake: Harpa
goodwini Rehder, 1993 or Hirtomurex goodwini Kosuge, 1988, or Fusinus
(Fusinus) michaelrogersi Goodwin, 2001.
I am glade that I have the time now to subscribe to Conch-L--which is a
vital link to the world of Conchology and Malacology.
Aloha from Hawaii,
Dan
