Harry,

It was one of two ways and I'm not sure which method was used: there was
either mention of it in the paper (either this one or its partner on the
bivalves) or I counted them myself. I would tend to believe that I found
the number somewhere in the paper. Weisbord may have put a daggers or
asterices after the extant forms and I may have counted them. This was all
done when I was working on Chapter 9 in the AMS mollusk book.
