My grammatical dictionaries for names of mollusks are online at
<gopher://erato.acnatsci.org:70/11/.wasp/.gender>. It's based on Western
Atlantic names, but useful for marine mollusks worldwide. You can search for
the gender of a genus name and then search to determine if an associated
trivial name is an adjective. If it is an adjective, masculine, feminine and
neuter forms are given.
If a trivial name is a Greek adjective that was not Latinized, then the
ending does not change to agree with the gender of the genus
I'll second Tom Watters recommendation of Brown's Composition of Scientific
Words. A fantastic, fanatical compilation.
