Dear Luciano,
Just got back from the Cook Islands last week. Rarotonga was good
for
shell collecting and snorkel collecting all around the Island. Numerous shells
in shallow water, and beached. My wife found a conus adamsoni on the beach near
the
airport on Aitutaki.Dead but still a find.
Rarotonga is well built up with numerous hotels etc. Aitutaki is
very rural.
No public transportation, taxi's etc. You can get scooters to get around. The
best shelling is on the out islands, where we picked up many molluscs.
We loved both places. The people were great. We went to the local
church
on Sunday and I wish I had a tape recorder. The singing and harmony was great.
If you want any more info, please feel free to contact me.
