Hello,

This is a question for any and all Strombus experts out there. I have several specimens from
Venezuela, all labeled Strombus pugilis. On in particular stands out from the rest in that it's
smaller, has smaller spines on the spire whorls, and the aperture is whitish to pinkish inside
with deep orange-red around the edges. Also, there are several very pronounced teeth (lighter in
color) inside the edge of the outer lip (most pronounced in the vicinity of the stromboid notch).
I'm wondering if this could be a specimen of Strombus pugilis worki Petuch, 1993. I'd like
information on the range of S. p. worki, as well as its distinguishing characteristics. Any
assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and I'll look forward
to hearing from you soon. Bye for now. :)

Sincerely,
Tim Blackwood
