Dear Conch-Lers,
A consultation for yours: The species "Scala (Nitidoscala) eburnea
(Potiez & Michaud, 1838)", mentioned for Southern Brazil (Santa
Catarina State) in the historical contribution of Morretes (1949, p.
81) (*), now it is referred as a synonym of "Epitonium eburneum
(Potiez & Michaud, 1838)".
Even so, I ask: Is Epitonium eburneum really a valid species, or just
a synonym of another one ??? ...
(*)Ref.: Morretes, Frederico Lange de. 1949. Ensaio de Catálogo dos
Moluscos do Brasil. Arquivos do Museu Paranaense (Curitiba, PR), Vol.
VII, no. 1, pp. 5-216.
Thanksfull in advance for the possible answer.
Ignacio Agudo.
