Hi Chad,

It's basically a rather common pacific shell (often erroneously referred to
as Tonna olearium (Linnaeus, 1758)). As it was described in an article on
'The Dolia of the United States' in the 'Transactions of the Albany
Institute, New York' by an American, I presume that it still is in the US,
if not lost. Unfortunately, apart from the fact that it was described from
the collection of P.H. Nicklin, I don't have any further information. I was
hoping someone out there - from regional centers or so - would be able to
give a hint or a clue.

Chris,
Where is Dolium zonatum found?  If not at a national museum, its most likely
held at a regional center, or they would be more likely to have a handle on
where to look.
