Dear Paul;-
     Take heart. The name latipennis is a mis-spelling of the
expression: lot-a pennys. King Penda in about the 6th century in
ancient Britain, invented the Penny. Lot-a-pennys (or pence) referred
to a wealthy person. So your shell is obviously a rare, and therefore,
 expensive shell.
