The copy I have is probably good enough to scan into an OCR program and
convert to text with a LOT OF PROOF READING AND I MEAN A LOT OF PROOF
READING, but I want it in database format for the sorting capabilities,
particularly as I add new species and species that the Burch's missed. As
I mentioned yesterday, I am putting it into the Microsoft database Access.
This will allow me to do searches on the data for my research. It could be
printed out in a tabular format in Excel or even in a Word Processing
program like Wordperfect or Word for other people. Realize that this is a
slow process, 5 species/day and since I just started it recently (and do
not have time each day to do it) I am only on page 4 or 45!

Now, I do have a pretty good "master xerox" of the Burch's catalog. Rather
than waiting for me to finish my data entry (which may take a long time),
if someone REALLY wants a copy, I have a pretty good xerox machine
associated with my consulting business and I would be willing to make
double-sided copies (to cut down on the postage) for people. Now here are
the rules:

1) DO NOT HIT THAT REPLY BUTTON, SEND ME THE EMAIL PRIVATELY!! IF YOU DO
HIT THE REPLY BUTTON AND IT GOES TO THE ENTIRE GROUP, YOUR NAME GOES TO THE
BOTTOM OF THE LIST!

2) Send me you name and address and I will send you a copy as I have time,
in the order received by email

3) Don't worry about the cost of the xeroxing and postage, it will be
minimal - I think!

4) I will include in each copy a list of rarer recent Olivellas that I am
looking for. Even if I get a single specimen of a single species that I am
looking for just one person, this whole effort will be worth it!
