There is no direct mention of seashells in the Bible as far as I know. Just the reference to it.  The murex is referred to indirectly in the Bible. Two species common in the Mediterranean Sea, Murex trunculus and Murex brandaris, were the source of the costly purple dye used to color cloth in Bible times. These references can be found at Esther 8:15 & Luke 16:19 for example. Toni
