Another thought would be to talk to a custom auto paint shop.
They can dip the trays and repaint with auto/metal paint and you
then have a color and gloss as you wish.  Candy apple or Green apple. :-)
Budget might limit this - but it is an option to inquire about.
Or do it with a powder coater...but it is normally thicker.
