Hi Joan and Kev,
Kilburn, 1983 synonimizes Barbatia decussata Sow. with B. foliata
(Forsskål, 1775). I think that is the best solution for the Bartbatia's of
this type. It's no use to separate species that are not separable. Of course
there is the possibility of anatomical differences, but I never found a
publication about this subject.
Kilburn places also A. helblingi (non Bruguière, 1789), A. nivea Röding,
1798 and Barbatia petersii Dunker, 1870 in the synonimy.
