And R.T. Abbott in "American Seashells" states of A. nobilis that it is "usually associated with sea pansies" (p. 97, Second Edition). So a predatory assumption might be made from that note also.

Dear Ryan,

Bandel (1976: 252-253) reported first hand observations of this species feeding on a variety of sea anemones.

Bandel, K., 1976. Observations on spawn, embryonic development, and ecology of some Caribbean lower Mesogastropoda (Mollusca). The Veliger 18(3): 249-271.

Dear All,
The Dauphin Island Sea Lab's public aquarium, The Estuarium, has acquired a few live specimens of Architectonica nobilis from offshore, hard-bottom trawls that they would like to keep for display. They are stumped regarding what to feed them, however. All I have been able to come up with so far is that they feed exclusively on hexacorallians. Can anyone expound on this? Are they picky eaters or will they feed readily on anemones and/or hydroids? Does size matter?

Thank you for your help!

Ryan
