Hello Lindsey,

I found the below article online which would seem to give several good locations. I can personally vouch for the first two mentioned, ie the Reykjavik Harbor area (checking in nets, gear boxes etc for fisherman's bycatch, which yielded a few good shells) and the lighthouse at Grotta (superb site, get there as the tide is dropping and stay as long as you can...I literally stayed until the rising tide was about to cover the last bit of dry land back from the island to the mainland; the best shells for me seemed to be on the inner/mainland side of the island but its all good- I don't recall seeing the Nucella lapillus mentioned in the article but I guess they were there.

Grotta is an easy "reach" from Reykjavik, I think there was public transportation. We got lucky and got a ride there, the weather was good that day and I walked back to the hotel (about an hour's walk).
