Mark - Victory??  Over what?  I think it smells more like de feet.
Speaking of flies - that's another option for removing smelly shell contents,
though not compatible with everyone's tastes.  Rinse the shell out with water
(to provide a little moisture).  Place the shell outdoors in a shady area,
where your friendly neighborhood raccoon or other critter won't carry it off
(in some kind of cage is good), and let the flies do their work.  Maggots
really get every last scrap of tissue, and the smellier it is the better they
like it.  Then just flush it out.
