Can anybody tell me the status/relationship of the above two taxa....different sources give different impressions...for example the ANSP OBIS database appears to list them as synonyms (pasted in below), whereas nuxcastaneus does not appear in WoRMS (and is not included as any synonym of castaneus).  In Shells of the Western Pacific the shell in volume 1 , Plate 69, figure 2 is referred to in volume 1 as castaneus, but in Volume 2 under the description of a different Melampus species, there is a reference/comparison  to the same text figure in Plate 69, and they called it nuxcastena.
