A lot of people are asking about addresses these days. There are 4
excellent sources of conchologically-minded people and oganizattions on
the web, which, together, constitute a formidable resource, and mean
that if you ever lose someone's address, it is easy to find it again.
They are:

        1) the Conch-l directory, which is difficult to use, but which contains
all the subscribers to the list, except for a possible few "Deep
Lurkers" who wish to hear, but not be seen. just send the message
"review conch-l" (without the quotation marks) to:"L-Soft list server
at UGA (1.8c)" <[log in to unmask]>. It is in alphabetical order
according to e-mail provider, so you must use the "find" function to
find anything else, such as someone's name.

        2) The Vita Marina listing of conchologists on the web, which IS in
alphabetical order:( attatchment #2, or URL
http://home.pi.net/~spirula/shellers.htm). If you want people to find
you, along with your interests, registering here is a good idea.

3)A great links page operated by the incredibly prolific Guido Poppe,
which has sections listing shell clubs, conchological and malocological
societies, and nearly everything else mollusc-wise that you may wish to
find on the net: http://www.club.innet.be/~year0078/Links.html .

4)the "mollusca" directory, which i have not figgured out ow to obtain
yet (does anybody know??).

Of course, one can also fid a lot of things by browsing Bret Raines'
ever-great Molluscs Web: http://www.molluscs.net/.

Now, these are just for the do-it-yourself crowd: "asking the list" is
still a valid, although usually unnessary method for everyone esle!

(i REALLY hope this "link" thing works!!)

                                                                                                                Cheers,
                                                                                                                Ross M.

"The more words, the less meaning" - a usually misquoted passage
from Proverbs- except when applied to politians, lawyers, speakers at
weddings, most award winners, and people who use the verb "to impact",
or the phrase "point in time".
