Dear Peter,

i have no idea on the validity of the taxon, but there are=20
conchological differences.  You can distinguish the two at once by a=20
combination of size (laurenti is smaller in general) and the top
whorls=20=

of laurenti are smooth or almost smooth, while ribbed in powisi. You=20
can see both on our homepage.

Both live deep, but now I have the impression that powisi is deeper=20
than laurenti. `

Maby there are intergrades, the opinion of experts is wanted here.
