Listers,
I'm now a few days away from going to the central Pacific for the first
time and I just heard that someone saw a newsclip on a cable station.
This third-hand report has it that a man was shown holding a live
cone-shell in each hand by tongs but the cones stung him on either side
of the neck. The man died instantaneously.
I'm dubious--for one thing that it wouldn't have made the rounds here
already. For another, that cones would reach so far, and
simultaneously. (Although with a double whammy like that I wouldn't be
surprised that one would be dispatched to the happy shell hunting
grounds in the sky pronto).
Anyone recognize the source of this rumor?
