Hi Conch-L'ers,
While I'm cataloguing neglected Samoan shells on my days
off, maybe someone can help me with a question... I have
several shells from Samoa that fit the species identified by
Cernohorsky as Monilea belcheri and Monilea callifera.
However, as I was looking for authors and dates on the
net, it appears that these two names have been synonymized.
Was it a case of the names being synonymized, and one of
the two species getting a new name, or was it decided that
the two species illustrated by Cernohorsky, and others, are
the same species?
Thanks,
Don
