Dear Anna and other ConchLers,

Melanoides tuberculatus has been recorded as an introduced species from
Great Britain. See the most up-to-date checklist by Anderson which is
downloadable at:

http://www.conchsoc.org/pages/Anderson.pdf

Since populations of M. tuberculatus has already been found in canals,
streams and lakes carrying the heated effluents of power plants in the
Netherlands, Germany and elsewhere in western and central Europe, this
subtropical to tropical species can most likely establish itself under
similar conditions also in Great-Britain.
Best regards,

Henk K. Mienis
