Dear Ladies,

It may be that the tariff imposed by the WRS registry has discouraged contributions, to wit:
o Lee (2009: 34) reported a 138 mm specimen
o Huber (2010: 291) cited a 149 mm specimen.
Neither author recognized D. r. vanhyningi Clench and L.C. Smith, 1934, and the writer remains resolute on the matter.

Huber, M., 2010. Compendium of bivalves. A full-color guide to 3,300  of  the world marine bivalves. A status on Bivalvia after 250 years of research. ConchBooks, Hackenheim, Germany. 901 pp., incl. numerous color figs + CD-ROM. August.
Lee, H.G., 2009. Marine Shells of Northeast Florida. Jacksonville Shell Club, Inc. 204 pp. + 19 color plates. 28 May.

Hi Carolyn,
The record in the 2015 publication is 101.50 mm for Dinocardium robustum robustum. But there could be other more current submissions that would be published in 2016.

Subject: [CONCH-L] World Record Question

Hi to all--

Does anyone have the current world record size for Florida's West Coast "Heart" or "Brown Cockle"---Dinocardium robustum?

Thanks in advance for your help--
Carolyn
