James,

If you can't afford a Cypraea aurantium now, may be you could buy a Cypraea
fakeorium. I have one at home just for fun. It's a nice fake shell that
looks like a C. aurantium. ;-)))

Mine was bought as a fake shell, but does somebody else in the list have a
serious experience with fake shells bought or traded as real? I'd like to
hear about these bad experiences and know how to avoid them.

Cheers,

Dear all, As you can see, I have a great
passion for rare shells. Although I love
rarities, I can rarely afford them. I have a
collection of 40 specimens, and only three
are rare. I have: Pleurotomaria hirasei,
        Lambis violacea, and Cypraea mikeharti.
That's it. I sort of wish I had more, but for
the moment I have no money. What I really
want is a Cypraea fultoni, but I figure It will
be several years before I get one of those.
What I want second most is a Cypraea
Aurantium. Even after a year of collecting,
I still have not got one! Oh, yeah, does any-
one know how many specimens of Callio-
        stoma atlantis are known?

        Thanks,
        James
