Actually, I meant that for everyone, not just Travis. Human beings are
truly unique creatures on this planet...we are the only ones who seem
absolutely determined to stop the cycles of extinction that were in
motion long before we got here, and will be going on long after we
leave, perhaps to enter some extraterrestrial collector's cabinet. Now,
that is NOT to say we should promote, or take part in, acts of wanton
destruction of ANY species just because of a so-what, or me-me-me
attitude. We are all interelated to everything else and so the
destruction of anything changes everything else in ways that we don't
truly understand at this time. However, nothing is permanent, we can
only do the best we can do and try not to feel guilty that we cannot
stop the world from turning. Mankind is not an evil force from outside
of the balance. Balance isn't balance without a little teetering.
