Lots of Windows programs and Windows itself causes these - the causes
are numerous. Try getting Norton Utilities - they have all sorts of good
things that help clean up the disk, eliminating many of the causes of
this garbage, as well as programs that will unfreeze your computer. Now
if they could only clean up other clutter in one's life.....
