Trying to track down authors and dates, I ran into a couple of problems with Barbatia lima (Reeve, 1844). First, different references synonymized it with foliata Forsskal 1775, veluta Sowerby 1833, decussata Sowerby 1833, and various junior synonyms, but did not agree in detail. One synonymized lima under foliata and veluta, not decussata; one had it under decussata and veluta but not foliata, and one had it under decussata but not veluta. Secondly, one reference claimed that decussata was a junior homonym of decussata Linnaeus. However, Byssoarca decussata Sowerby, 1833 is not a primary homonym of Arca decussata Linnaeus, 1758.
What is the current generic assignment of Arca decussata Linnaeus, 1758?
Any particular insights on the synonomy of Barbatia lima?
