This would be important information to have. In the '60's my family
and I collected several species that were identified and collected
by a University researcher in the 80's while in the same spot and got to
name it.

Our research material was so light that who knew if it were new.
It sat in our collection until I identified it last year. I might have
more. Since
the atoll I lived on was 70 miles or so wide at the current top and
thousands of
feet deep. A very old but important atoll. Long isolated life.

Such is life those with the knowledge and ability get the discovery.

Heather - if you are into collecting fossil shells, the sand dunes in
Scotts Valley
just past the 'golden arches' but on the right going down the hill and
'under' the new
homes of the old sky port airport (freeway entrance first from Santa
Cruz, stay on
the road to Felton.) Once leaving Scotts Valley you dip into a valley
and the hills
all around you are sand dunes of long ago.

Martin [ long time Felton resident now in Texas ]
