The land snail seller on Ebay just pulled off all listings of Achatinella.
Good thing for him because engaging in the trade/sell online of a
federally protected CITES species is a serious crime, especially with a
100 listings! One of my friends worked for US Customs & now is with US
Fish & Wildlife. After i told him what this seller was doing he checked
the site and noted in his feedbacks prior sales of Achatinella which shows
intent of selling abroad. His contacting of Ebay and/or seller through his
dept obviously resulted in the pulled listings. He also noted a Arizona
based seller with amazingly the same exact listings. Through the feedbacks
of prior sales for both sellers he says his dept will follow-up on this
and take whatever actions are warranted though he cannot tell me the
results, if any.
