Of corurse they are. I spent 6 1/2 years in Kuwait and
during that time they reclaimed intertidal areas for the
costal hiway. Everywhere they pumped the offshore stuff the
intertidal species never came back while I was there. The
little places the contractors did not dump were almost the
same as before, not quite as many of each as before but OK.
I departed Kuwait in 1983, I just wonder what it looks like
now. The only person I know that has been there since is
Jenny Scarboro Cline. The shells she sent me no where come
near representing what I had. To bad, so sad. I wonder if
some of my tags are still on the Strombus decorus persicus?
