1. New Scholarship
The Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Project Clearinghouse
at the University of Colorado has begun a scholarship for students who
want to study in Japan for a semester or a year. For more information

2. Three new study abroad programs at UGA will begin this
Maymester/Summer.
The first is called From Paleolithic to Modern - An introduction to the
History
and Archaeology of Helvetia: French Speaking Switzerland. It will take
place in Estavayer-le-Lac, Switzerland, from May 16 - June 11, 1999.
The second is called Fabric Design in Kyoto, Japan. It will take place
from May 13 - June 12, 1999.
The third is called Understanding Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in
Schools. It will include seminars on campus (May 17 - June 11) and then
17 days in Xalapa, Mexico, followed by more seminars on campus (June 14
- July 9).
